A Night Out 004: ‘Wake Your Mind’ with Cosmic Gate & Emma Hewitt at SoundGarden Hall (November 17th, 2012)

Last night marked the second time I have gone to SoundGarden Hall in Philadelphia, PA and I must say that the venue is getting better and better. Opening just a few weeks ago, SoundGarden Hall is an incredible venue to be at if you like lots of lasers, lights, and a heart-throbbing sound system. Literally as I took pictures on stage last night, the floor would shake and vibrate along with the bass. SoundGarden Hall is bringing some of the biggest headliners in Trance, to not only Philadelphia but to the entire northeast coast. With a recent performance last month by Tritonal + Super8 & Tab for the “Arc” Tour, they have also booked big names like Jochen Miller, and Paul van Dyk. Missed out some of these massive Trance-infused nights?

Upcoming at SoundGarden Hall on November 30th, 2012, Philadelphia get ready for W&W, Kyau & Albert, Ummet Ozcan and Tom Colontonio! Not one.. nor two.. not even three.. FOUR massive Trance producers! You can buy your tickets HERE. EDMtunes hopes to see you guys there!

DJ and producer Wippenberg (a.k.a. Olaf Dieckmann) played plenty of progressive house from 10:30pm until shortly after midnight, spinning popular Swedish House Mafia track’s like “Don’t You Worry Child” and “Save The World”. Although his set was filled with songs with hard beats, the most memorable part of his set was when the song “City of Dreams” by Dirty South & Alesso came on, and the entire venue jumped in unison with hands waving in the air. As 12:30am came around, familiar faces appeared in the backside of the stage, followed with screams of excitement and joy.

Together, Claus Terhoeven (a.k.a. Nic Chagall) and Stefan Bossems make up Cosmic Gate, a group who pioneered in my love for Trance back in 2000 when they debuted their first single, “Exploration of Space”; a track that is still one of my all time favorites. Truly no strangers to the Electronic Dance Music scene, Cosmic Gate is one of the best Trance duo’s still existing today. As with their release of their album “Wake Your Mind” in 2011, they have deemed November 17th, 2012 in Philadelphia as a part of their “Wake Your Mind” tour. In fact, the energetic duo started their set of the night with “Wake Your Mind”, going on to playing a popularly edited song, their hit “Firewire”. Not only is the fabulous Emma Hewitt beautiful, the singer-songwriter and one of the best trance vocalists came out with Cosmic Gate to perform some of her collaborations with Cosmic Gate live. Interacting and holding hands with the sea of people reaching out to her, Emma sang popular songs such as “Colours (Cosmic Gate Remix)”, and “Not Enough Time”. The night could not possibly end without the emotional words by Emma Hewitt and the driving synths from Cosmic Gate in “Be Your Sound”, one of the most popular songs on their “Wake Your Mind” album. As if seeing Cosmic Gate wasn’t already enough, we were blessed to have Emma Hewitt perform in the same night as well. As the end drew closer around 2:20am, Cosmic Gate played one of my favorite tracks of 2012, Beat Service’s anthem “Fortuna” emptied my last tidbits of energy, before the drive back home to New Jersey. I was very surprised to see that Cosmic Gate did not play “Exploration of Space“, and even as the set ended, I saw and heard numerous people chanting “Exploration of Space!” repeatedly. Rest assured.. they’ll be back.. “Sometimes They Come Back For More“…

Most of the pictures (including you & your friends) from this memorable night are now posted on our Facebook page HERE & HERE.Thanks again for a great night #trancefamily! If you spot me next time, be sure to say hello! ☺
