Richie Hawtin and deadmau5 (testpilot) Play Back to Back Set at SXSW

Apparently, the place to hear the best & newest collaborations at SXSW was Stubb’s BBQ. The set that people are still talking about features the now infamous “test pilot,” off Richie Hawtin’s label, spinning back to back with Richie himself.  Of course, Test Pilot is simply another monicker of Joel Zimmerman, more commonly referred as deadmau5. There was a lot of good stuff coming out of Austin last week, and the 2014 “vs.” event was 100 minutes of techno & minimal techno, with the mastery & flair that only Richie and deadmau5 himself could pull off. This is a proper techno affair, so if you’re looking for almost 2 hours of Richie at his absolute best and Joel producing a sound he has very rarely ventured into up to this point, definitely check this set out.
