It was only a matter of time. Ultra hot DJ duo Dusky have announced they will be curating a new record label titled 17 Steps to be an outlet for featuring their own originals, as well as music from artists they want to put their name behind. The first release will be their forthcoming EP, Love Taking Over, on July 14th.
Dusky have ascended to global prominence this past year alone, thanks to resurgence in popularity for deeper styles of house music, something these British lads know a thing or two about. From earlier releases on Anjunadeep to big hits on Will Saul’s Aus Music label, the pair’s club-ready beats have warranted popular demand for performances around the world, from an unprecedented sold-out night at Fabric in London to a full-blown North American club and festival tour.
With 17 Steps, new deep house fans and long-time favorites can get more of that special sound Dusky is known for. “The introduction of 17 Steps feels like a natural phase in our development, and a logical move that enables us to take more control of our musical identity and provide a platform for music by other artists that we believe in,” the duo stated on Facebook.
