Ibiza’s Top 10 Shazam-ed Songs Combine for a Dream Playlist for House Music Lovers

Ibiza Shazam

Shazam has released a list of the top 10 ‘most shazam-d’ songs of the summer so far from Ibiza, Spain. The list is comprised mostly of house music (deep, tech, techno, future), with nary a big room track in sight which is a delight to all. Ten Walls “Walking With Elephants” brings home the award for most shazam-d song, a year after his track “Gotham” landed at #5, and there is no surprise there; “Walking With Elephants” is a tailor made club banger that has been heating up sets for a while now. Meanwhile the MK remix of “My Head Is A Jungle” brings home the EDMTunes personal award for  our favorite song on this list. After being featured in our deep house series ‘Adventures Down The Rabbit Hole‘ the infectious track has been difficult to turn off. If you’re unfamiliar with the deep house variety or looking for 90 minutes of Ibiza’s finest, check out the top 10 list below.

10. Patrick Topping – Forget

Patrick Topping’s “Forget” is an uptempo techno tune that is oozing with positive energy. It’s spacey synthesizer play and other haunting elements create a hypnotic tune that will have people dancing mindlessly. But the haunting elements are what really draw attention to the song; if you didn’t know any better you would think it was the soundtrack to a cheesy 80’s horror film on acid. And if that description doesn’t entice you to give it a listen, Ibiza is not the place for you.

9. GusGus – Crossfade (Maceo Plex Remix)

This is one of the few outliers from the deep house heavy playlist; Maceo Plex’s “Crossfade” remix is a dark tech-house tune that brings memories of the sound from underground raves of the mid-90’s. The deep vibrato that resonates throughout the song will send chills down your spine; throw in the horns and eerie synthesizer that Maceo uses and this tune will send your feet into a dancing frenzy.

8. Vario Volinkski – Falling in Love

“Falling in Love” is a groovy deep house tune and it’s easy to see why it’s popular with the clubs in Ibiza. Based around a love story that we are all too familiar with, the xylophone used helps to create an aloof atmosphere that shows that falling in love is carefree and relaxing. This tune is also probably very popular post-Ibiza club when being played in a more ‘comfortable’ setting.

7. Josh Butler – Got A Feeling (Bontan Remix, Pleasurekraft Edit)

There aren’t many artists who can make you move the way that Pleasurekraft does. The duo’s “Got A Feeling” edit of Bontan’s remix is a dark deep house tune with a hypnotizing beat. Down tempo with occasional bursts of energy, “Got A Feeling’s” beat is a perfect fit for nights in the club.

6. Emeli Sandé – Read All About It (Stefan Biniak Bootleg)

“Read All About It (Stefan Biniak Bootleg” is an interesting candidate on this list because it is an extraordinarily down tempo tune for a club scene like Ibiza. Then again I’ve never been to Ibiza, so my assessment of the scene there is probably completely off. Anyway, this is the kind of tune that new age deep house was named after, with the low vocals and slow, rhythmic beat carrying you along the dance floor. This tune is perfect for pairing up with someone and sharing some good vibes together.

5. Agoria – Scala

Agoria’s “Scala” is a simple house tune with captivating progressions that transport the listener to another dimension. It’s ethereal chords and ambiatic beat will guide you to the rabbit hole and push you down without you noticing. One minute your dancing and the sun is up, next minute your sitting down in a booth with a wide smile on your face enjoying the vibes.

4. Tapesh & Dayne S – How I Do

Chances are you’ve heard “Heard It Through the Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye, so chances are you’ve heard “How I Do” by Tapesh & Dayne S. “How I Do” is a deep house tribute of sorts to the late great Marvin Gaye’s timeless classic, with the backbone of the song being the famous chord succession that every beginning guitarist learned. Tapesh & Dayne S sprinkle in a deep house dance feel and leave us with “How I Do.”

3. Wankelmut & Emma Louise – My Head Is A Jungle (MK Remix)

If we were to rank the songs on this list by terms of quality, this is easily #1. The reason it’s not #1 now however is because a lot of people have heard it, with the tune reaching almost 3 million plays on Soundcloud. This jungle house/ tech house anthem is a perfect summer time song, and one that must be euphoric blasting over the beaches of Ibiza. If we were stranded on a desert island, this would be the tune to keep us sane. It’s been one of our favorites for many months now, and it is obvious why. MK has been going from strength to strength ever since this remix, and the fact that it’s still #3 on this chart, after being out for more or less a year, is an ode to this house legend.

2. Oliver $ & Jimi Jules – Pushing On

“Pushing On” by Oliver $ & Jimi Jules is a great tune to have blasting when you’re powering through an exhausting day at the office. It’s driving beat and up tempo lyrics help tap that inner strength we have within us, our second wind. It’s also been an absolute barn burner in club sets around Ibiza and really all of Europe for quite some time now, and is without a doubt one of the more iconic tracks of the past year in Ibiza.

1. Ten Walls – Walking With Elephants

Now the moment you have been waiting for, the #1 most Shazm-d song is…about elephants. The aptly named “Walking With Elephants” by Ten Walls is a calming orchestral deep house song that seems to harness the power of a herd of elephants for a big-band sound. What sets this apart from the rest is that there is no real genre it falls under, nor situation that calls for it; much like joining the peace corps, “Walking With Elephants” is something you simply just go ahead and do, whenever the moment is right. And the moment is almost certainly always right for this Fantastia-esque song.
