London Grammar – Wasting My Young Years (The Aston Shuffle Remix)

The Australian duo The Aston Shuffle have put a tropical, uptempo spin on London Grammar’s beautiful but melancholy song Wasting My Young Years.  There’s something deliciously paradoxical about the tragic lyrics and Hannah Reid’s distinct, brooding voice contrasting with The Aston Shuffle’s scintillating brand of house music and the result is undeniably cathartic.   The group’s signature sunniness recalls previous singles like “Sunrise (Won’t Get Lost)” and “Can’t Stop Now.” “Can’t Stop Now” was featured on The Aston Shuffle’s sophomore album, 2014’s Photographs, and is well-known from the remix treatment that Matisse & Sadko released in 2013.
