Today, larger-than-life Swedish star Alesso made a couple of major announcements. The first being the upcoming release of his latest original, ‘Tear The Roof Up’, which exudes an electro house core that seems to be influenced by Swedish House Mafia’s sound. On his Facebook fan page, he wrote, “The beginning of a whole new era for me. New label. New records. Welcome.” The ambiguous notion of this status leaves many fans in wonder of what exactly he means by “New label.” Fortunately, we are able to provide you with all the specifics. ‘Tear The Roof Up’, which received it’s world premiere on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show, will be his debut release under his brand new contract with Def Jam Recordings. Luckily, the record is currently streamable below via Soundcloud. The title of the record is explicitly explained by Alesso, who says, “I wanted to make a massive song that would literally make people want to tear off the roof.” His last major release dates back nine months to his collaboration with Calvin Harris ‘Under Control‘. With a formidable following on all platforms and an arsenal of top house artists he has worked with in the past, Alesso has made the most of his musical talent and has proved time and time again to the masses why he is one of the most relevant names in the industry today.
