Deadmau5’s 458 Purrari is officially no more, perhaps due in part to a cease-and-desist order from Ferrari North America.  The Italian brand took offense to the Mau5’s customization of the car, especially over the custom Purrari emblems and car mat’s previously gracing the vehicle. The Purrari had gained attention from the moment of its inception, utilized for Deadmau5’s infamous Coffee Run series as well as the Gumball 3000 rally with Mythbuster’s Tory Bellecci.Â
I wonder if the jackass lawyer at @FerrariUSA who sent us a “cease and desist” letter over the purrari is un-butthurt now that I unwrapped.

Yeah it was mostly about the custom floor matts and the custom purrari badges. Whatever. It’s just a normal ass 458 now. All good.

The 458 Spider has been stripped of it’s Nyan vinyl wrap and restored to it’s original look. However, it is unclear if this was in compliance with Ferrari’s legal team or the next step in selling the vehicle. Regardless, the Purrari had a legendary run and the world will be slightly less cheerful without it. Sources say Zimmerman has now moved on to a new McLaren 650S, which he aspires to wrap in Ventablack, the worlds darkest material. R.I.P. Purrari. Via Jalopnik
