Some artists will filter their thoughts, consult their manager, or even hire someone to do it for them before sending out a tweet. Mat Zo is not one of those artists and that’s one of the many reasons we love him here at EDMTunes. You may recall the the producer jokingly applying to be Rain Man’s replacement just a couple weeks ago after all of the Krewella drama that has recently taken place. Now, Mat Zo has taken on another hot topic in the dance music community: getting other people to do your work for you. Usually, this is seen with the controversial idea of ghost producing, but a series of tweets from young Brit has brought the equally serious problem of ghost mixing to our attention.
Considering that when he is not flying all over the world to play shows, he is working on his productions, it’s not unreasonable to think that someone else is behind his popular radio show, ‘The Mat Zo Mix‘. In fact, Zo states that most of our favorite DJs’ radio shows are ghost mixed, as there is just not enough time in the day to put together a quality weekly or monthly mix. Finally, he points out that it is only the last few mixes that have been mixed by someone else and if you want to hear a live mix from him, you should head to a Mat Zo show.
Ive had a few of my radio shows ghost mixed, and I feel disconnected and lost. How do people with ghost producers not kill themselves?

In fact, all my radio mixes for the last few months have been ghost mixed. First by @jonobir and more recently by @matanYe_West — Boredom made me say: (@Mat_Zo_MRSA) October 13, 2014
Sorry to burst your bubbles, but all your favourite DJs’ radio shows are ghost mixed

Every month when it came to doing my radio show I was filled with such dread at the prospect of sifting through mountains of shit all day — Boredom made me say: (@Mat_Zo_MRSA) October 13, 2014
Now all i have to think about is making music
— Boredom made me say: (@Mat_Zo_MRSA) October 13, 2014
Great now it looks like Im pointing fingers. Its simply not viable to be a touring dj + producer + radio dj. There must be a trade off — Boredom made me say: (@Mat_Zo_MRSA) October 13, 2014
Obviously not ALL your favourite radio shows are ghost mixed, but a shit ton of them are. Its seen as very rare and noble to mix your own
— Boredom made me say: (@Mat_Zo_MRSA) October 13, 2014
Ill say it again, @matanYe_West will be mixing most if not all of the future matzomixes. Im not pulling any fabric over your eyes — Boredom made me say: (@Mat_Zo_MRSA) October 13, 2014
.@matanYe_West is far more dedicated than i am at finding the freshest, best new music. Whereas all i wanna do when im home is make music
— Boredom made me say: (@Mat_Zo_MRSA) October 13, 2014
If you want to hear a mix that I did, come see me do one from scratch live at a show 😉 — Boredom made me say: (@Mat_Zo_MRSA) October 13, 2014
If you stop listening to my radio show cus its mixed by @matanYe_West then fine, but youre not gonna stop me from making music
— Boredom made me say: (@Mat_Zo_MRSA) October 18, 2014
The original premiss for my radio show was it was going to be an hour of pure musical story telling like my essential mix — Boredom made me say: (@Mat_Zo_MRSA) October 18, 2014
But that proved to be unsustainable. It was every other week, then every month, and every episode became more and more of a chore
