It can be a beautiful thing when EDM and the hip-hop world collide and that just so happens to be the case for this year’s Winter X Games. Joining Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg, Skrillex and Chromeo have been announced as headliners for this season’s games in Aspen. Performances will take place January 23-25th at the base of Buttermilk Mountain. Tim Reed, vice president of X Games explains,
“The goal is to help create more of a festival atmosphere around the sports… It creates a really good vibe on the mountain, especially with a great mix of talent like we have here between Snoop and Wiz, Skrillex and Chromeo.”
The cost will certainly feel similar to a festival, as tickets are priced at $150 for admission and $200 for preferred viewing passes. The Winter X Games will also feature a new stage design this year, presumably an upgrade from last year’s stage which hosted both Tiësto and Axwell. Tickets are available at X Games.com, but for anyone who can’t attend the performances will be live steamed. We can only hope some interesting collaborations are inspired on the slopes, but for now we’ll just have to wait and see!
