If there’s anything that we’ve learned from compiling this list of the twelve best New Year’s Eve events, it’s that no matter what corner of the world you’re in, you’ll be able to dance the night away. We’ve got everything from trap to trance, Zedd to Zeds Dead and Los Angeles to Las Vegas, which means that any and every electronic music fan will find something for them. With the holiday season in full swing, it wouldn’t surprise us if a few of you have forgotten about NYE, which is why our gift to you is the chance to win free tickets to some of the nation’s hottest parties. That being said, keep an eye out for the events that we’re running contests for and you just might be able to ring in 2015 with some of the industry’s best.
Day 1: SnowGlobe
Held annually in the quaint little Northern California college town of South Lake Tahoe, SnowGlobe attracts some of the biggest artists that the industry has to offer. This year is no exception, as attendees will get to ring in 2015 to the sweet sounds of Zedd, Porter Robinson, Flume, Disclosure and Skrillex. For all the night owls out there, the fun doesn’t stop once the festival ends and with TEN after parties featuring the likes of Flux Pavilion, Justin Martin, What So Not, and Odesza, there is never a dull moment. SnowGlobe 2014 will take place from December 29th-December 31st and for ticket, lodging and line-up information, head over to snowglobemusicfestival.com.
Day 2: Toronto’s Countdown NYE
Toronto electronic music fans were left scratching their heads after RL Grime left their city off of both legs of his ‘Void Tour‘, but there was a collective sigh of relief when it was announced that he would be the main attraction at Lyme and Embrace’s Countdown New Year’s Eve. The trap superstar is not the only world-renowned talent set to take the stage though, as Borgeous, MAKJ and Bassjackers will be joining him. Countdown NYE is also showing the locals some love, inviting Toronto natives Keys N Krates, Joe Ghost and Shaun Frank to be a part of the festivities. If you’ll be in the GTA on NYE, be sure to score your ticket for the low price of $62.15.
Day 3: Zedd at XS [Ticket Giveaway]
If you plan on being in Vegas for New Year’s Eve, you’re in luck. As the ultimate destination for decadence, Sin City is planning countless celebrations, bringing in top-level talent to ensure guests have a glamorous, unforgettable night. How to choose among so many options? A sure bet will be ringing in 2015 with one of EDM’s darlings, Zedd, at one of the city’s most opulent megaclubs, XS at Encore.
As always in Vegas, the ladies have the advantage for entrance. To ‘stay the night’ with Zedd at XS, men’s all-access tickets are going for $300 + $25 service charge and women’s all-access tickets are $125 + $19.75. If those ticket prices have you breaking a sweat, you can stay cool outside with an outdoor-only ticket: guys pay $30 + $5.50 and girls pay $20 + $4. Tickets are available here and if you’re interested in getting a table, contact XS through their website or a promoter.
Day 4: Reaction NYE [Ticket Giveaway]
After numerous festival appearances, releasing their genre-defying EP and embarking on the subsequent ‘Somewhere Else Tour’, Zeds Dead is ready to close out 2014 in style with not one, but TWO headlining shows at the historic Aragon Ballroom. That being said, it’s only fitting that we’ve partnered with React to give you the chance to win not one, but TWO pairs of tickets to see the guys perform alongside Seven Lions, LOUDPVCK and Milk N Cookies on December 30th for Reaction NYE.
The show will kick off Zeds Dead’s two-night run in Chicago for the inaugural ‘Reaction New Year’s Eve‘, with the second night being a special ‘Space Oddity Costume Party’. The Canadian producers have brought some special friends along for their New Year’s Eve spectacular, as Djemba Djemba and Jauz will be their co-captains on this magical journey into outer space. This is most definitely the hottest ticket in Chicago, so be sure to head over to www.reactionnye.com to grab your tickets.
Day 5: Insomniac Countdown & White Wonderland [Ticket Giveaway]
For the fifth day of our ‘Twelve Days of New Year’s Eve Events‘ series, we headed back to the Golden State for a couple events that are being put on by one of dance music’s premier companies. The first of the two is Insomniac’s Countdown, which is set to take place at the NOS Event Center in San Bernardino, California. The show features an all-star lineup of DJ Snake, Audien, Porter Robinson, Showtek, Bingo Players and Laidback Luke.
Countdown is not the only California event that is being put on by Insomniac, as White Wonderland will also be hosting some world-class artists. Armin van Buuren, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, W&W and Countdown performers Laidback Luke and Showtek will be taking over the Anaheim Convention Center on New Year’s Eve for one of the wildest all-white parties you will ever see. For more information about White Wonderland, check out their website and for more information about Countdown, click here.
Day 6: Skrillex & Diplo at MSG
Between the constant hustle and bustle, the immaculate skyline, and the never-ending nightlife, there is no doubt that New York City is indeed the greatest city in the world. That being said, it is no coincidence that two of the most exciting electronic acts of 2014, in Skrillex and Diplo, have joined forces to play what is shaping up to be the biggest NYE show on the planet. Did I forget to mention that they will be performing at one of the most legendary venues in Madison Square Garden and that they will be joined by the likes of Yellow Claw, A$AP Ferg, and Rudimental? Yea, this is definitely going to be one for the ages. Both Skrillex and Diplo will each be performing a solo set, which will be followed by a highly anticipated, face-melting set from JACK Ü. If you are looking to be part of history this New Year’s Eve, I suggest you run, not walk HERE.
Day 7: Bassnectar NYE 360
For the fourth consecutive year, Bassnectar is bringing his New Year’s Eve party, complete with a 360-degree rotating stage, to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Bassnectar will help his legion of bassheads usher in 2015 with a stacked lineup of extremely talented openers: world renown bass trailblazer, turntablist, and extremely gifted producer, Tipper and G Jones, an up-and-comer in the low end trap game known for slaying dance floors with pristinely mixed sets comprised of his all-original tracks. And of course the man himself, Bassnectar, is sure to put on a next-to-perfect show comprised of both old dance floor anthems and new favorites all seamlessly strung together. Unfortunately, tickets, travel packages and VIP tickets are all sold out, but VIP upgrades are still available for GA ticket holders here!
Day 8: Calvin Harris at Hakkasan
As we already mentioned, Sin City is one of the most incredible places you can be this New Year’s Eve. With more megaclubs adorning the Strip than ever before, the odds are stacked that you’ll have an incredible night DJ’d by one of the biggest names in the game. And as 2014 comes to a close, no one is bigger than Calvin Harris. Along with Eva Shaw and Burns, the Scottish producer will be celebrating the start of 2015 at his home in Las Vegas, Hakkasan at MGM Grand.
We already reported that Calvin Harris’s NYE celebration will offer up a new precedent in bottle service, but we’ll reiterate the full details. For a cool $500,000, elite revelers can purchase the ‘World’s Most Expensive Bottle Service‘ in the form of the Dynastie Package. The Dynastie Package guarantees your name in lights on the main screen during a confetti shower, a staff of 40 attending to your wants and desires, a 30-liter Midas by Armand de Brignac, a championship belt, a gold disc signed by the man himself, diamond cuff links and a diamond necklace. Without a table, men are looking at $325 + fees for GA; ladies will pay $175 + fees. Tickets for this over-the-top event are available here.
Day 9: Sunburn Festival Goa
We know this might be cheating, but we had to show India’s Sunburn Festival some love. The event doesn’t take place on New Year’s Eve, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t attracting some of the biggest electronic music acts in the game. The festival, which is set to take place from December 27th-29th in the party destination of Vagator, features quite the eclectic lineup that is bound to please the thousands of fans that will be in attendance. Knife Party, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Sander van Doorn, Krewella, Baauer and many more will be slaying the main stage crowd over the course of the three days, while artists such as Sasha, Jamie Jones and Oliver Dollar will be bringing the sounds of the underground for the house lovers. You can score your tickets here and find out why Axwell once said, “When I play for money I play Vegas, when I play for holidays I play Miami, when I play for love I play India”.
Day 10: Blasterjaxx at Best Buy Theatre NYC [Ticket Giveaway]
This is another event that isn’t occurring on New Year’s Eve, but when one of the hottest duos in dance music is rolling through the ‘Big Apple’, it’s hard not to throw it on the list. Blasterjaxx will be performing at the Best Buy Theater in Manhattan, NYC alongside future beats pioneer SevnthWonder and popular up-and-comer Fareoh. The combination of seasoned veterans and budding talents taking the stage on this extraordinary evening should prove to be one for the ages. That being said, if you’re looking for a solid warm-up event before NYE, look no further than right here.
Day 11: Decadence
Finally, we’re heading over to the great state of Colorado for the City of Decadence. The event takes place from December 30th-31st and will feature two different stages, ‘Bass Arena’ and ‘Global Dance Arena’, that boast diversely decorated lineups suitable for all dance fans. Trance acts like W&W and Armin van Buuren will grace the Global Dance Arena along with EDM superstar Zedd, while acts like Claude Von Stroke and Paper Diamond play the Bass Arena along with headliners Disclosure and Bassnectar. That’s all only on the first night though. On New Year’s Eve, bassheads will have the opportunity to catch Grizmatik, Flux Pavillion, and Big Gigantic headline the Bass Arena, while those who want to listen to more progressive and electro oriented acts can head to the Global Dance Arena to see the likes of Sultan + Ned Shephard, Madeon, Deorro and Kaskade perform. For more information on Decadence NYE, check out the official website here.
There you have it, 11 different events that are bound to please even the pickiest electronic music fans. Wherever you end up being when the clock strikes midnight, we hope you all have a magical evening and that you get to begin 2015 with a bang.
