Tiësto, Aphex Twin And Clean Bandit Win Big At The GRAMMYs

Tiësto,

Whether you like it or not, a GRAMMY is one of the most prestigious awards that a musician can win. Just like every year, many trophies have already been given out and some of dance music’s finest are leaving the award show with some nice hardware.

For someone who has been in the industry as long as Tiësto, it’s amazing to think that a GRAMMY award has always escaped him. That is until now though, as the Dutch producer beat out the likes of Kaskade, Audien, Robin Schulz and more to win the trophy for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical thanks to his take on John Legend’s “All Of Me”.

In the Best Dance Recording category, Clean Bandit reigned supreme, as their tune “Rather Be” ft. Jess Glynne beat out songs from ZHU, Disclosure, Duke Dumont and Bassment Jaxx. The British group had some tough competition, but they were ultimately able to hold off the heavyweights thanks to the track’s commercial success.

Finally, the other big dance music winner was Aphex Twin, who won the GRAMMY for Best Dance/Electronic Album. The Irish veteran’s album Syro was praised by many critics and even though it wasn’t as popular as deadmau5′ While (1<2) or Mat Zo’s Damage Control, it was victorious in the end.

For a full list of GRAMMY winners, visit their website here and be sure to tune into the ceremony, which airs at 8pm EST/5pm PST on CBS.
