Festivals that fuse the spheres of electronica and indie, such as Coachella, have become more and more prominent. Montreal’s Osheaga is a massive jubilee that attracted 135,000 attendees last year and dedicates its celebration to both music and visual arts. Its unique outlook allows for local and national surfacing talent to perform with some of the largest names in the industry.
Osheaga encompasses a variety of outdoor stages located in Montreal’s parc Jean-Drapeau on Saint Helen’s Island. Much alike other festivals that have predominantly hosted acts of alternative genres, Osheaga has consistently started to embody more and more electronic acts within their lineup. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the festival, but also the most electronically-dominated lineup within the festival’s history. The event has hosted electronic giants like Porter Robinson and Knife Party in past years, however, this summer’s Osheaga will feature ZHU, Kygo, Chet Faker, Robin Schulz, Caribu, Cashmere Cat, RL Grime and many more.
Osheaga Music and Art Festival will take place July 31 through August 2. Tickets and more information about the lineup are available here and be sure to check out the 2014 after movie below.
