Juanes is a stranger to the electronic music community, which is why it was a surprise to see him not only appear, but perform at Sunset Music Festival this past weekend alongside Cedric Gervais. EDM seems to be slowly seeping into Latin music, however it is happening nonetheless.
At Sunset this weekend past, Cedric yelled “¿Donde está mi gente Latina?” the Miami crowd was definitely ready for some crossover action. Juanes threw his hands in the air before shouting out to Cedric and performing his first electronic collaboration “Este Amor,” a poetic yet energetic salute to Latin romance. Juanes really did not need to prove himself to the horde of festival junkies if he can pull off a fist-pumping electronic love song. With a crowd proudly waving Colombian and Mexican flags, his powerful vocals and lyrics truly were the highlight of both the track and the performance.
