In less than 3 weeks, dozens of the biggest names in electronic music will descend upon Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. Maryland has always been a well kept secret in the American rave scene, and could be considered the unofficial bass music capitol of the World. ‘Bass music’ is an umbrella classification used to connect dubstep, garage, drum ‘n’ bass, elecro funk, and other similar sounding electronic sub-genres, and for nearly two decades, ravers in the Baltimore/D.C. area have been hooked. Promotion group Steez Promo has led the charge in bass events all across the North East, and they have returned, for the second year, to promote Starscape’s bastard child and groundbreaking host of DJ/producers: Moonrise Festival.
Moonrise released their star-studded lineup several weeks ago and have recently published the carefully scheduled lists of who will play on Saturday, August 8th, and who will play on Sunday, August 9th. Among their meticulously curated headliners, Steez Promo and Club Glow have hand picked the world’s most talented bass performances to be featured throughout the weekend, including Bassnectar, Big Gigantic, Datsik, The Glitch Mob, Zeds Dead, Knife Party, Doctor P, Zomboy, and many, many more.
