Apple Music announced a partnership with Kygo that will vault the Tropical House star to the forefront of the new streaming music service. Besides Kygo, Apple Music has inked other big names for their new platform, which includes Pharrell, Puff Daddy and The Weeknd.
To kick off the new partnership, the two will orchestrate an outdoor promotional campaign, video content and a remake of the classic hit,”Take On Me,” by Norwegian trio a-ha. The song will be exclusively released on the new Apple Music in the coming months.
Larry Jackson, Apple Music head of content, shared his excitement of the new partnership stating: “My excitement to work with Kygo on this idea was abundantly clear to anyone who was within five feet of me these past few weeks — I couldn’t stop talking about it. More than being a great DJ and producer, this guy is an impressive musician, and a lot of people are just discovering that.”
For Kygo and his top-house sound, this is a huge step in the right direction. Partnering with this tech juggernaut will only help push his name and music in the right direction and both parties will reap large benefits from joining forces.
“I’ve really enjoyed working together with Apple to help launch their new streaming service,” says Kygo. “It is really cool to see Apple getting involved.”
