Justin Bieber – The Feeling feat. Halsey
Just days before the release of Purpose, one of the most anticipated albums of the year, Justin Bieber dropped another Skrillex produced track, “The Feeling” featuring electropop artist Halsey. While calling-in on Zane Lowe’s radio show, Bieber played the more radio friendly track for the first time along with acoustic track “Love Yourself”, co-written by Ed Sheeran. It’s different from Sonny’s previously released tracks with the Biebs, this time muffling his beats for a dreamier background. It’s unlike the producer, but does complement the pop star’s memorable vocals nicely. The slight cow bell in the chorus is really the only representation of Sonny etching against the pop sound. Halsey takes charge of the chorus, bouncing off Bieber’s lighter than air vocals beautifully.
Sonny is credited for producing and/or writing 5 tracks on the album, including “Sorry” and “Where Are Ãœ Now“, the Jack Ü-produced track that revived Bieber’s career. It’s also worth noting that Steve James, another dance music artist, helped write and producer the album’s title track. Purpose is set to drop this Friday.
