We lost a legend last night. After a long battle with cancer, David Bowie passed away at the age of 69. This comes just two days after his birthday as well as the release of his 25th studio album, Blackstar. Many dance music artists, such as Diplo, Avicii, Kaskade, Hardwell, DJ Snake have already commented on the rock star’s death.

Believe it or not, there is another electronic music connection to this story, as some clueless people on Twitter seem to think David Bowie is the same person as breakout British DJ/producer David Zowie. In 2015, Zowie rose to fame thanks to his song “House Every Weekend”.

David Zowie, who is actually named after Bowie, also took to Twitter to salute the rock star:

As funny as this situation may be, there is no denying that the death of David Bowie has impacted the entire music community. Let’s keep his family and friends in our thoughts.
