Every year, LED Presents throws a magnificent birthday party for themselves at San Diego’s Valley View Casino Center. This beautiful stadium has also seen amazing performances from Sam Smith, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift. It is also home to the San Diego Gulls who play hockey games there regularly. For this year’s fifth edition of LED Anniversary, the company enlisted Jackal, Hook N Sling, CRNKN, Trippy Turtle, Shaun Frank, SNBRN, Dotcom, Ookay, Showtek and a special guest that was later revealed to be Jauz.
Upon first entering the stadium, I was delighted to see that LED went all out yet again with multiple LED screens, one of which was a giant triangle reflective of their logo. Lights, lasers, and multiple balloon toys were bouncing through the crowd all night as attendees were treated to a night of nonstop great music.
Shaun Frank and SNBRN performed a magnificent B2B set which proved to be a major success as the two DJ’s styles complemented each other quite well. The beginning of the event was well-hyped and then took a mellow, chill turn when Trippy Turtle was on. As the night went on, everyone at the event danced their hearts out and enjoyed each others’ company. After Ookay finished, it was time to reveal the special guest. Anticipation was welling up in the crowd, and when Jauz appeared onstage, everybody lost it. Opening with a remix that he did for Dillon Francis, Jauz treated everyone to his bass music and absolutely killed it. The night ended with Showtek, who have not been to the stadium since LED Anniversary III two years ago.
All in all, it was a wonderful night full of excitement and joy. I, and I’m sure many others as well, am already prepared for LED USA during Memorial Day weekend and cannot wait to return to the LED Dome.
