Now that summer is here, fans of Monster Energy Center Of Gravity festival are excited to go to this years installment. Having probably the most stacked lineup they’ve ever had, this year is bound to be one for the books. In BC, MECOG is one of the most popular events of the year, attracting several thousand attendees. There are countless reasons why you should go but here are just a few.
MECOG has never failed to produce an outstanding lineup. Having a variety from Hip-Hop, to electronic , to live performers, this years lineup is especially impressive. Hip-Hop legend Ice Cube will be on the main stage, as well as Kid Ink, and Machine Gun Kelly. Kelowna is widely known as one of the top tourist destinations in Canada, with its Beautiful beaches, hot climate, and hillsides covered with orchards and wineries, its easy to understand why so many people flock to Kelowna in the summer. Not many big festivals also have high energy sports on the bill, but MECOG is well known for successfully combining the two. MECOG started out as a beach volleyball festival in 2007 called ‘Volleyfest‘ and has since grown exponentially larger every year. MECOG features 6 spectator sports zones featuring athletes competing in beach volleyball, basketball, wakeboarding, wakeskating, freestyle motocross, BMX and skateboarding for some major cash prizes. The festival also has 3 interactive sports zones that allow attendees to compete alongside friends and take part in the competitive spirit of the weekend including Zorb Soccer, Rec.
