Without question, EDC Las Vegas is one of the world’s biggest dance music festivals, pulling over 135,000 people each night during this year’s event. Featuring an 80,000 pound tree coated with LEDs along with custom fountains along its 440 foot frame, the EDC Vegas main stage is one of the most impressive feats of production to grace the eyes and ears of EDM fans all over the world. But what does it take to pull something like this off?
In a recent interview, founder of Insomniac Events, Pasquale Rotella, discusses how plans for the production of this festival begin to form before the previous year’s festival had even started. Between juggling over 4,000 employees who are involved in the process of running the festival and allotting the $45-50 million dollar budget, the employees at Insomniac really have their work cut out for them.
