The visuals are not the only thing making a shift from classic to futuristic. The soundtrack is flourishing with electronic icons including Above & Beyond, Gary Numan, DJ Shadow, Boys Noize, Tricky and more. The original soundtrack, however, is not lost in the midst of the new age, electric vibe that is surrounding the album.
Steve Aoki‘s rework of Kenji Kawai’s legendary theme song “Utai IV Reawakening,” which is the center piece for the original version, successfully transformed the song into a synthy, eclectic beat, all while keeping the iconic pieces of the song in tact.

Aoki certainly didn’t hold back his enthusiasm about the opportunity to remake such a symbolic piece of music.
“This is a big day for me. Especially for teenage me when I first watched the anime Ghost In The Shell that planted the seeds for my imagination and obsession for Sci fi android life AI singularity and later the blueprints towards my Neon Future ideology.”
