During a live stream on Wednesday, deadmau5 decided to do a little bit of set prep for his upcoming Testpilot show at Movement this weekend. Testpilot is the techno side project of deadmau5 and he will be headlining the Detroit festival under the alias this Sunday.
In 2014, the first official Testpilot track was released, titled ‘Sunspot (White Space Conflict)’. At that time, it came out on Richie Hawtin’s Plus 8 label. Testpilot made its first appearance in a b2b set with Hawtin at SXSW in 2013, though it was never billed as Testpilot.
In February, it was announced that Testpilot would be playing its first official show and fans have been waiting ever since. This 14-minute video of deadmau5 prepping for the set showcases just how capable he is of keeping up with other legendary techno producers also performing at the festival. We have no doubt that he’ll give them a run for their money.
The stream from inside the studio gives fans a glimpse of what to expect from the set, as well as a brand new Testpilot song called ‘Headroom.’ Check out the video teasing the set below and get ready for the debut performance of Testpilot this weekend.
