Pandora Is Limiting Its Service Outside of The United States

Five years ago Pandora, one of the world’s most popular music streaming apps, set up their service in Australia and New Zealand. Unfortunately the company has now announced that they are now in the process of stopping their services in those countries.

“After diligent analysis, we have decided to discontinue our operations in Australia and New Zealand and expect to wind down the service for listeners over the next few weeks,” the company statement read.

“While our experience in these markets reinforces the broader global opportunity long-term, in the short-term we must remain laser-focused on the expansion of our core business in the United States.”

This all comes after news of changes at the top of Pandora’s ranks with the CEO departing from the company on Tuesday. With so many shifts occurring, it leaves many of us to question what Pandora’s future will pan out to be.

If you have ever used Pandora, you’re well aware of the wonderful convenience the service provides in its internet radio service, ideal for when you just want some tunes to zone out to. It began as commercial free internet radio basically but has now added ads and tiered offerings, including a free service or pay subscription service. We will see if this latest news causes more changes in what they offer.
