Conro – Close
Canadian producer Conro has dropped his new single ‘Close’, the second single off of his upcoming EP, Connecting the Dots, out August 9 through Monstercat. It’s a shimmering future bass track with elements of dubstep and house sprinkled in. An uncredited female vocalist soars over emotive piano chords, lush synth pads, and a pulsating drop. “We lost everything, but you’ll always stay close to my heart,” she sings, making for a simple yet memorable hook that will instantly grab listeners in. From the opening low-pass synth chords and record player static to the outro with fading vocals, a delicate piano arpeggio, and reversed piano, it’s a gripping and emotional three minute-long track.
Conro is in the midst of a busy week, performing today at Martin Garrix’s Ushuaïa Ibiza show and performing tomorrow at Tomorrowland in Belgium. ‘Close’ follows ‘Lay Low’ featuring David Benjamin as the second single off of his upcoming five-track EP. We’ll have to wait a few more weeks before we can hear the three other tracks—‘Circus’ featuring Beckii Power, ‘Remedy‘, and ‘Love Divine’ featuring Alice Berg—but in the meantime, check out ‘Close’ on SoundCloud below.
