Detroit is a city widely known to be in decay, well past its prime years that gave it the name the Motor City. Apart from being a city that defined an era of motor vehicle technology in the 1950s, Detroit is also known as the American birthplace of techno music. Movement Electronic Music Festival has been a mainstay in Detroit for the last decade, and has gathered electronic music fans from all over the world for their annual celebration of techno. Magnetic Magazine partnered with Red Bull to provide an inside look at the events before, during and after Movement’s 10th year, so you can see what it was like to be apart of that magic.
This year Movement hosted a lineup featuring techno’s brightest international stars including Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing, Dixon, Joseph Capriati, Seth Troxler, and the debut of deadmau5’s tech-house alter-ego Testpilot.
