Admit it, we all take too many videos at festivals and concerts. This writer may or may not have entire hard drives worth of festival videos that just sit in the cloud collecting virtual dust. Now Snapchat is once again innovating in a bid to regain favor. This time Snapchat has a new feature called Crowd Surf.
Take an event like EDC Vegas for example. Crowd Surf would stitch together all the users’ videos from Porter Robinson’s set into one video from multiple perspectives with the music tracking throughout. It’s basically a less polished version of many of the EDM music videos you see these days from live footage.
You can already access Crowd Surf through certain Our Stories, which was demonstrated with Lorde’s recent performance at Outside Lands. Will this feature attract you back to Snapchat or will you be waiting for Instagram’s version?
