Imagine Music Festival is coming to Atlanta in a few short weeks (September 22 weekend), meaning the build up should begin soon. However those plans could become more complicated as the site of the festival will now open as a shelter for evacuees of Hurricane Irma. Hurricane Irma is a devastatingly scary Category 5 hurricane that has a path which perfectly threatens the entire SE coastline.
As a result thousands in Florida and now Georgia are fleeing North and West. Now the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Officials said in a statement Wednesday that its tent and RV campgrounds will host evacuees free of charge beginning on Thursday. The site is quite massive as those who attended Imagine last year will know. This situation shows just how huge the effects from Irma could be, and if Irma is bad we could see the build up for Imagine Festival impacted in some way. Let’s all hope for the best and that Irma turns further East and misses them all.
