Lookas – Eclipse
Miamian Lookas, or Lucas Rego, made his debut on Canadian independent record label Monstercat with the release of a yin and yang trap track ‘Eclipse.’ Listeners bathe in the meditative introduction, followed by a staccato climax. The single is a teaser of what’s to come once Rego drops his first EP titled Lucid. He also confirmed Krewella and Able Heart‘s collaborative involvement on the forthcoming album.
Last January, Rolling Stone Magazine dubbed Lookas as one of the “Top 10 Acts to Watch This Year.” The self-taught DJ knocked on EDM’s door in late 2013 turning heads with his remix of DVBBS and Borgeous‘ song ‘Tsunami‘ on Ministry of Sound. Rego’s fame transpired when rappers Flo Rida & Sage the Gemini recruited him for the 2015 frat party anthem ‘GDFR.’
He has also graced the stage at gradiose festivals such as Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, Tomorrowworld, Ultra Miami, Beyond Wonderland SoCal, Safe in Sound, Bassrush and Life in Color. In addition to ‘Eclipse’ and Lucid, his official remix for Dillion Francis and Skrillex‘s ‘Bun Up the Dance,’ is in the mix. Not too shabby for a high school dropout.
