The LA-based concert promoter Goldenvoice has decided to end its relationship with Sean Carlson. Goldenvoice is the promoter behind festivals like Coachella and FYF, the latter being an event that Carlson founded.
An email came from Goldenvoice CEO Paul Tollett reading:
“Effective immediately, Goldenvoice has ended its relationship with Sean Carlson, were evaluating our path forward as it relates to FYF Fest”.
Carlson started FYF as a punk rock-oriented festival in 2004. It has since blown up to be one of the biggest events in the country. He hired Goldenvoice in 2011 to help with running the event as it grew larger in size. This year’s festival had performances from Missy Elliot, Nine Inch Nails, A Tribe Called Quest and many more.
Tollett has not provided an explanation to the public as to why the split happened, so we can only speculate. More info on this is sure to come out in the near future – keep an eye out here as it comes.
