Still Not Ready to Visit Hi Ibiza

Another summer season will come to pass and King Carl Cox will not be hosting his infamous residency at the dance cathedral formerly known as Space Ibiza. Strange times indeed. The British dance titan got together with Mixmag to reflect on the old club he used to call home for over 15 years. Cox has still yet to step foot in the rebranded HÏ Ibiza, sharing that he would probably “shed a tear as I walk through the door.”

With the end of one chapter comes the beginning of a new one. Despite the transition period the Spanish island seems to be going through at the moment, Cox will remain involved in-season. He is afforded more freedom than ever, with fresh starts for Resistance at Privilege along with sporadic standalone shows at Amnesia, DC-10, and Pacha. Other notable adjustments include those involving Ibiza mainstays Maceo Plex and Sven Väth, to name a few.

Cox also took time to acknowledge the point that he is at in his life with his illustrious career. Known for inhuman tour schedules, he hinted that it might be time to scale it down a bit to pick his spots. A well-rested Carl Cox should add fuel to his usual energetic shows, something Ultra festival-goers will want to take note of leading up to his highly anticipated return for the festival’s 20h anniversary. Despite all this recent change, we can still always rely on an epic performance from the dance titan.
