The Dirtybird Records family are walking with heavy hearts today as they lost one of their own. Chris Wilson, better known as Grill$on passed away this week. The man behind the spatulas and lovable personality has been apart of the Dirtybird Records crew since their inception back in 2001. He has been a supporting and functional figure in the label’s journey from their first tiny Golden Gate Park parties to the massive empire it has grown into today. He has been with the OG Dirtybird crew for almost two decades, growing to be an essential and loved part of the label family. Here’s what they are saying about their dear friend passing away:
RIP Chris “Grill$on” Wilson? I’m gonna miss you and your larger than life personality brother. You will always be the real OG and dirtybird wouldn’t be what it is today without you. Glad we got to share some of the most amazing times ever together. pic.twitter.com/9lq7zOADkv

Not only was Grill$on close with the artists, he made so many connections with fans that eventually blossomed into friendships. People would line up to meet, take pictures with him, exchange information, and actually hang out with outside of the events. Grill$on really exuberated what the label stands for: spreading joy through music, food, and a good time. Rest in paradise, you will be missed by many.
