The MTV Europe Music Awards were last night and it had some wild moments. There were performances by Nicki Minaj, Halsey, and Marshmello. Tons of awards were given out too. Camila Cabello ended up winning best artist. Also among the winners of last night was Avicii. His death has had a profound impact on the music industry. It is only fitting for him to win the Best Swedish Act of 2018.
Avicii has won many awards in the past. In 2014, he won best song of the year at multiple awards shows for “Wake Me Up.” He has also won a few best electronic artist awards, most notably at the American Music Awards. Earlier this year, he won best dance video for “Lonely Together” at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Who knows how many awards he may win for the rest of the year. But, it is sad knowing this will most likely be the last year we hear his name for winning an award. He has had an amazing career and I am happy to have lived through some of his best moments. Thanks to us the fans, his music will live on forever.
