NYC’s Cielo Club Rumored To Be Closing After 15 Years

Another classic nightclub in New York City is rumored to be closing down its business after a nice 15 year run in the city. The notorious club, Cielo, which is located in NYC’s Meatpacking District earned its reputation thanks to its intimate vibes, thumping sound system, and giant disco balls along the ceiling. As one of the only venues to operate 7-days a week, the space rapidly earned some notoriety thanks to their eclectic bookings ranging from Underground music, House, Trance, to Industry and Hip-hop events. Some of the greats such as Carl Cox, deadmau5, Afrojack (as Nick Van De Wall) and Gareth Emery have graced the DJ booth one time or another.

Cielo’s rumored closing comes as not a giant surprise following a rapid decrease of nightclub’s in New York City, starting with Roseland Ballroom, Pacha NYC after the tragic passing of Rob Fernandez, the Sullivan Room and not to mention the iconic Webster Hall which had been operating for more than 100 years before selling to a corporation.

While the news of the venue’s closing hasn’t officially been confirmed by the venue, our trusted sources have revealed that the venue will in fact be closing its doors very soon. Keep an eye out for updates and official announcements made by the venue.
