Tomorrowland’s summer return brought everlasting memories and revolutionary sets by our favorite artists. Besides the MainStage acts, let’s not forget what happened over at the Freedom Stage, despite its emergency transformation. The Symphony of Unity, performed by The Metropole Orkest, brought the unexpected to those at Tomorrowland. The change in pace gave everyone a little break from the outside world, all while staying playing familiar music.

The 60-piece orchestra, conducted by Dirk Brossé, paid tribute to many of EDM’s most legendary songs. From Faithless’ ‘Insomnia’ to Energy 52’s ‘Cafe Del Mar’, the crowd was taken to a new world. Many described the hour-long performance as pure magic. The Symphony of Unity took full advantage of lasers and visual effects their first weekend at Tomorrowland. After all the commotion, an even larger crowd formed the second weekend at the Lotus Stage.

Fans were completely blown away when Eric Prydz’ iconic ‘Opus’ buildup began. While hearing ‘Opus’ by Prydz himself is something one remembers for a lifetime, having it transformed by a full orchestra, left us with a deeper appreciation for the song. Already, fans are hoping for the Symphony of Unity to return next year, maybe even to the main stage.

If you haven’t seen the Symphony of Unity’s performance, be sure to watch their second weekend set below. Lastly, let us know which transformed song is your favorite!
