On September 16, 2019, the exciting 22nd edition of the DJ Awards took place at Heart Ibiza. The winners of these awards were announced at this event. Founded by Jose Pascual and Lenny Karup, DJ Awards is an independent non profit electronic music awards that has been around since 1998.
Winners are chosen using two separate methods. Firstly, the public votes for the music categories via the DJ Awards website. Next, a panel of electronic music professionals who currently make up the scene cast their own votes.
The winners receive a highly sought-after piece of green kryptonite. According to the organizers of the DJ Awards, “the word kryptonite embodies Crypto (the code and mystery of life) and Nite (the nightlife and its culture).” To receive this award is quite notable.
