Practice makes perfect right? Well, let’s hope that’s true for Ja Rule, who seems to be planning his next music festival.

Co-founder of the ill-fated Fyre Festival in 2017, Ja Rule revealed on yesterday’s episode of The Wendy Williams Show that it’s still in the works for him. When asked about the decision, Ja Rule explained that fundamentally, Fyre Festival was “a dope idea” unfortunately ruined by “bad situations and wrong partners“. With the right people, things will be different.

“Sometimes you get in bad situations and wrong partners, as we know. And you gotta reset and do it right with the right people.”

Understanding that people may remain wary, Ja Rule admits to Fyre Festival being a painful experience for him. (This probably explains why the rapper hasn’t seen either the Netflix or Hulu documentaries!). He does come to his own defense, suggesting that he doesn’t deserve blame because he wouldn’t have gotten any credit if the festival was a success.

“If it had went off without a hitch, everybody would have said ‘Oh, look at this great thing that they did.’ Not, ‘Ja Rule thought of it, came to them with the great idea, and they funded it.’ As soon as it blow up, ‘Look what Ja Rule did.’ How does that work?”

Festival aside, Ja Rule also discusses his new reality TV stint and an upcoming album with Williams. Watch the full interview below.
