Billboard’s Dance Music Charts for the Decade

With the end of the decade on the horizon, the so-called “Golden Age of EDM” is coming to end. While it is sad to see these ten amazing years of come to a close, it is also a time to celebrate all of the artists who have made us fall in love with dance music. Billboard has been releasing charts summing up this monumental decade for EDM.

Top Albums of the 2010s

Lady Gaga’s The Fame remains supreme when it comes to the #1 album in dance/electronic. Although released in 2008, it sat atop the #1 spot for a record-setting 108 weeks! Coming in at #2 is Daft Punk with their 2013 album Random Access Memories.

#3 album of the decade is David Guetta‘s Nothing But The Beat, released in 2011. Coming in at #4 is ODESZA‘s 2014 album In Return. The Chainsmokers appear twice in the Top 5 albums with their 2016 release of EP Collage. All 5 of these albums featured a stunning amount of singles that shot up the charts.

Top Songs of the 2010s

#1 song of the decade is by none other than the 2018 hit ‘Happier’ by Marshmello and Bastille. The Chainsmokers and Coldplay collab ‘Something Just Like This’ comes in at #2 thanks to a record-setting 79 weeks in the Top 10. #3 song is 2018 pop favorite ‘The Middle’ by Zedd.

#4 song of the decade is Avicci‘s classic ‘Wake Me Up’ with Aloe Blacc, which spent 26 weeks at #1 in 2013-2014. Closing out the Top 5 is Major Lazer’s and DJ Snake‘s track ‘Lean On‘, featuring MØ.

Other highlights in the Top 50 songs of the 2010s are The Chainsmokers appearing four times in the Top 10 for ‘Closer,’ ‘Don’t Let Me Down,’ and ‘Roses.’ Zedd and DJ Snake both appeared 6 times in the Top 50 songs. Some big ones from Zedd including ‘Stay’ and ‘Clarity.’ DJ Snake popped off with ‘Taki Taki’ and ‘Middle.’ Calvin Harris appeared 5 times with mega-hits ‘This Is What You Came For’ and ‘One Kiss.’
