Starting off the new year with a bang, Habstrakt releases his first track of 2020, ‘Free’. After just playing his first show as part of Jauz’ Dangerous Waters tour, Habstrakt is having an astonishing year thus far. ‘Free’ is out now on SLANDER and NGHTMRE’s imprint, Gud Vibrations. Following releases like ‘Real’ and ‘The One‘, this French bass house mixologist perseveres in his succession of intoxicating releases.

Setting Free a whirlwind of bass house demons, Habstrakt unleashes a new cocktail of ominous notes and filthy synths. The track begins with Habstrakt unbinding haunting vocals against elongated deep notes. Like phantoms swimming across a foggy pond, an eerie phrase sings, “Set me free.” Rigorous percussion carries the cinematic intro into a swelling buildup. From start to finish, Habstrakt deploys heavy use of dark and gritty bass house synths. The bassline bellows underneath the depths of this track, like beasts waiting to be emancipated. Crisp percussion carries the song deeper into a trap breakdown filled with haunting horns. The song presents a menace of fiery intoxication from beginning to end.

Habstrakt continues touring this year on Jauz’s Dangerous Waters tour. Later in March, he will perform at Ultra Music Festival in Miami. Check out Habstrakt’s tour dates here.
