The late legend Avicii‘s ‘Wake Me Up’ featuring Aloe Blacc has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify. A number well deserved for one of the great electronic artists of our time.

The track from the album of the same name which was released in 2013, won the Billboard Music Award for Top Dance/Electronic Song, iHeartRadio Music Award for Dance Song of the Year, Echo Award for Song of the Year, and Teen Choice Award for Choice Electronic/Dance Song the year after its release.
For the dance music world, his loss was more than a huge hit. It was indescribable. We are still saddened by his loss but take solace in the fact that his music lives on and touches us just as strongly now as ever before.
