For the 9th year in a row, Toronto will be home to the 2-day, all ages VELD Music Festival. In 2020, the summer festival hits Saturday and Sunday, falling on August the 1st and 2nd. Presented by Ink Entertainment and Live Nation, VELD brings a weekend of glitter, short shorts, and summer-beats to Ontario’s capital.

Headlining will be crowd favourites including Armin Van Buuren, ILLENIUM, Marshmello, and Martin Garrix, but there’s something for everyone. The Phase 1 announcement has also confirmed Alan Walker, CamelPhat, Cosmic Gate, Don Diablo, and NGHTMRE, just to name a few. A date for Phase 2’s lineup announcement is unknown, although in previous years, we’ve seen this drop around March. Sadly, this year is once again missing Toronto native Deadmau5.

While EDM typically dominates the lineup, VELD is also known to draw in a hip-hop crowd. This year’s hip-hop lovers can get excited for chart-toppers like DaBaby, Tyga, Lil Tjay, and Manila Grey.

Last year was a big year for VELD with headliners such as Tiesto, Kygo, Skrillex, and Cardi B. The 8th year drew in 30,000 reported attendees, the biggest attendance to date. However, since bringing in hip-hop acts in 2017, the festival has somewhat confused the predominately EDM loving crowd. In both 2018 and 2019, hip-hop acts Migos and Cardi-B kicked off late. Last year, Cardi-B was scheduled to close Day 1, however unfortunate incidents with customs left her with only 15 minutes to close festivities before noise curfew laws hit.

Either way, we’re looking forward to the Phase 2 drop, though we’re already pretty chuffed at what’s to come. Registration for VELD’s 2020 pre-sale can be made here.
