“A Celebration of Glastonbury” Will Be Aired on BBC This Summer

This year’s Glastonbury Festival has been canceled as a result of COVID-19. However, following this unfortunate announcement, the BBC has shared on Twitter that they are planning a “celebration of Glastonburythis summer.

This year’s event would have been the 50th anniversary of the long-time festival. As a result, to make up for the cancellation and to celebrate this great achievement, the BBC will be planning something special for attendees. Each year, the well-known publication broadcasts the event. Therefore, they have chosen to keep the festival alive during this devastating time. As their statement states:

“We, along with the Eavis family, are saddened that understandably, the Glastonbury Festival can’t take place.” They continue, “We are already looking forward to next year’s festival at Worthy Farm and will now look at providing our audiences with a celebration of Glastonbury in June.”

This year’s Glastonbury was expected to take place on June 24th – 28th. Unfortunately, its cancellation comes after a series of postponements and cancellations of many other music festivals and events. Furthermore, some of these festivals are Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland Winter, Coachella, and many more.

Stay tuned for more updates on this music festival.
