ODESZA and Golden Features‘ project, BRONSON, unveiled the music video for their track, ‘HEART ATTACK‘ featuring lau.ra. The cinematic animation is directed by award-winning Hungarian filmmaker Balázs Simon and produced by London-based company Blinkink. Simon spoke out on the making of the video considering how the lock-down made it difficult to assemble a large team.
“As we couldn’t assemble a big team together due to lockdown, we needed a less conventional way of doing this, where all departments had to work separately – without really seeing the whole picture! We had to rely on our imaginations. We went out to the empty streets of Budapest and shot camera moves without any subject, then we rehearsed movements in a park, did some motion capture, and from there we took the stay-at-home ordinances to heart – locking ourselves in for a couple of weeks and assembling all the collected data into this video. It was an intensive experience with an amazing team of talented friends, and it made our days much more bearable!”
Watching the video, it presents a tale of fighting tooth and nail to get to a certain point of light on the horizon. This is shown through the desolate and dark landscape presented which the character emerges out of. From that point on, she continues to fight the winds pushing her back, unwavering due to the power of will pushing forward. Evidently having the golden cloak and garments pushed away, she emanates the light within her, inspiring the people around to emerge and embrace the light too.
Gian Galang’s (@galang43) artwork was the perfect visual compliment to the sound of BRONSON. His work captures the same energy we sought to express with this record. Take a look behind the scenes at his process, cant wait for you to see what else he put together. pic.twitter.com/vgN1rdO85S

When it comes down to aesthetic, BRONSON is presenting a focus around black and white. Distinctly, the tints of gold become much more appealing within the dichotomy bringing life into the mixture.
To leave a reminder, the self-titled album by BRONSON is set for release on July 17th, with two tracks already out. We’re heavily looking forward for what’s to come, knowing the three are likely concocting some surprises along the way. In addition, they’re releasing it via ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective imprint and Ninja Tune.
