It is not often that the worlds of dance and classical music cross paths, but when they do, it can be oh so glorious. Today, we bring you news of just that, as the Nu Deco Ensemble has released its highly sought after ‘Humans vs Robots‘ symphonic suite. The suite in question is one in which the Nu Deco Ensemble covers everyone’s favorite robot duo, Daft Punk.
For those of you who didn’t know, the Nu Deco Ensemble is based out of Miami, Florida, and is a ‘virtuosic and eclectic orchestra that creates genre-bending musical experiences‘. Their aim is to ‘inspire, enrich, and connect new and diverse audiences and artists‘. From the looks of things, they’ve managed to do just that through their new ‘Humans vs Robots‘ symphonic suite.
‘Humans vs Robots‘ runs 23 minutes, and 42 seconds long, but we only wish it were longer. Sam Hyken is responsible for the arrangement and also happens to be the Nu Deco CEO, co-founder, and composer. Throughout the orchestral set, we get to hear various tracks from Daft Punk from different periods and projects.
A few that stick out are ‘The Son of Flynn‘ from TRON: Legacy OST. Then there is ‘Digital Love’ from their Discovery album, and my personal favorite, ‘Get Lucky‘, off of their Random Access Memories album. I won’t spoil the rest of the special set, as I definitely think it’s worth a view.
