BT & Matt Fax – 1AM in Paris/ The War

The Grammy-nominated film composer, instrumentalist, songwriter and Trance Music legend BT releases together with Matt Fax a brand new double single. The BT and Matt Fax- 1 AM in Paris/ The War’ on Black Hole Recordings.

The double single shows just a small fraction of BT’s forthcoming album. More info about this coming soon but for now, let’s get into these two songs. Firstly, ‘1 AM in Paris ‘ is a progressive masterpiece, with Matt fax’s characteristic sound.

Matt Fax is a must-see act if you like the Progressive Trance. Over the years he’s dominated speakers around the world with his releases on labels like Armada, Anjunabeats, and Colorize.

This collaboration shines as this well-known city, radiating a peak time energy that’s been missed during these months on lockdown. It’s an excellent preview to BT’s album and also, an opportunity to know more about Matt Fax’s sound.

‘1 AM In Paris’ is a collaboration with Matt Fax. We wrote this quickly kicking ideas back and forth via Skype and email. (…) We owe so much to the dub music pioneers like King Tubby and later pioneers (a real inspiration to me) like Adrian Sherwood from Tackhead Sound System and Coldcut. I use these techniques of live mixing all the time”

While ‘The War’ brings BT’s classical melodies back with a sweet Iraina Mancini’s voice, that makes the track very quiet and emotional. Two different songs that make the new BT and Matt Fax brand new single an epic experience.

BT and Matt Fax new single

The Warstarted life as a super rough, piano, and vocal demo from Iraina Mancini, Si Hulbert, and Paul Harris from Dirty Vegas. There is so much going on in here it’s hard to figure out where to start. This is one of the most complicated pieces (sound design, musically, and arrangement) on the whole album”.

Stay tuned for more info about these two legends in trance music and more genres. You can listen / download the track here
