Linda Linda listen! MK is out with a certified groovy house remix of Katy Perry’s track ‘Daisies‘. If there’s anything we need right now, it’s more music to cure this quarantine depression.
Kinchen adds an infectious bass line, accompanied with rhythmic piano chords to sweeten the melody. With Katy’s flaming vocals, both artists made it their goal to have us dance, even if it’s from home.
This is Perry’s anthem of self-confidence, as the lyrics elegantly show. Fusing together house music and her themes of empowerment and courage, we surely feel it. She tweeted her excitement below.
We know times have been tough to swallow right now. Music is one of the things that can unite us. It gives us hope and lets us express ourselves. MK had a few things to say regarding these current times.
“Make no mistake—dance music is born from black culture. Without black creators, innovators, selectors, and communities, the electronic dance music we hold so dear would simply not exist. In short, dance music is deeply indebted to the global black community and we need to be doing more. Black artists and artists of color have played a profound role in shaping the sound and culture of dance music and now more than ever, it is necessary for everyone in the music community to stand up for the people that have given us so much. Black Lives Matter—get involved” – Marc Kinchen
My Block My Hood My City, Black Lives Matter, and National Lawyers Guild are few links where you can get involved. Many more are out there, and you can be a part of the change. Listen to MK’s sick remix below while you browse.
