Shazam, probably the most popular music identifier app, dropped some cool data about songs of the summer. On this occasion, Shazam presented the Top 50 ‘Shazamed’ Summer tracks of the last decade. This seems timely since it appears unlikely that there will even be a song of the summer for 2020, with no socializing and all.
The application can identify music, movies, advertising, and television shows, based on a short sample played and using the microphone on the device. Apple bought the app in 2018 for a reported $400 million.

It is not the first time that the company shares curious data. Last year, Shazam shared a list of the Top 10 Shazamed Dance Tracks Of The Summer In Ibiza. Now, the company joined forces with Kiss FM – a popular radio station from the UK- to analyze data. The result of this research is a list of the 50 most Shazamed summer tracks during the last decade. During the investigation, both companies registered many electronic tracks at the top during the summer months for the last 10 years.
The results are now available and we can see that many EDM anthems are on the list. MØ & DJ Snake’s ‘Lean On’ reached the top. In the second position, we can find the Latin song by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber named ‘Despacito’. ‘Wake Me Up’, one of Avicii‘s masterpieces reached the third step of the podium. Definitely a track from 2013 that never gets old.
If we keep looking at the list, we can find other wonderful hits. Lost Frequencies with ‘Are you with me’, Oliver Heldens & Becky Hill with ‘Gecko’, or Sam Feldt’s ‘Show me love’ are also in the top 10.
While Spotify is looking forward to adding new functionalities, Shazam keeps revealing very interesting information. Last year, Shazam even released Pryda 15 Vol III EP Tracks. Besides, Apple Music also added last summer the Shazam Discovery Top 50 Chart.
