Following the release of his debut album, Laps, Cassian enlisted Yotto to remix ‘Imagination‘ featuring Tora off of it. The remix is out via RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue Records. Previously, it was the other way around when Cassian was brought on to remix ‘Nova‘ on Odd One Out. Coming full circle, the artist behind Laps told the tale of how this came together.
“Yotto and I first met years ago at an afterparty in Denver. For some reason I was rolling around the party on an office chair while brandishing a baseball bat. I don’t remember much from that night but I can only presume that I used the baseball bat to pressure Yotto into agreeing to do a remix for me at some point in the future because I can’t think of any other reason why he would have done it. However it came to be, I’m so happy with the incredible remix he’s done and so happy for there to be another chapter in our book as collaborators. Don’t tell anyone but we’re already working on the next chapter (shhh emoji)”

Imagination (Yotto Remix)
Kicking off, the track sets a tone with the rumbling resonant bass, while Tora’s vocals take lead. Yotto’s recently been on a roll with his mood-setting productions, and this is no exception. Throughout, it’s a slow burner as elements stack eloquently onto each other with melodic breakdowns. Towards the end, it turns into a melodic mover with infectious synth arpeggios and stretched vocal cuts.
