It is safe to say that Jason Ross is absolutely on fire. He is heavily embracing his melodic side, pairing his latest releases with rhythmic beats, invigorating drops, and extremely talented vocalists. These characteristics are showcased masterfully in his new track, ‘Open Water‘, featuring Heather Sommer.
This track whips up all the feels with its powerful lyrics and emotional tone. In Ross’ own words, he says, “It’s probably one of my favorite songs in the melodic dubstep genre that I have made to date, and one that I’m super proud of.”

‘Open Water’ is said to be the follow-up track to previously released ‘One Look‘, which also featuring Heather Sommer’s encapsulating vocals. In fact, Ross also shared on his Instagram that “If you look closely, you can see the artwork from ‘One Look’, through the gates, symbolizing the connectedness between the two.”
These two songs are Jason Ross’ first single releases on Seven Lions’ label, Ophelia Records. Ross released his debut album 1000 Faces on Ophelia Records in January. Additionally, let’s not forget his latest trance release on Anjuna – ‘For Love‘.
Ross has also been on a variety of digital lineups, including the Dreamstate Livestream, Nocturnal Wonderland Virtual Rave-A-Thon, Digital Mirage Online Music Festival and Seven Lions’ live mini-festival Visions.
The evolution of Ross’ sound and the talent he brings to the table is impossible to ignore. We are excited to continue to watch him blossom as an artist. Stay tuned!
