Denon Dj has officially launched an integration with Beatport Link and Soundcloud GO+. It’s available on all products that run their Engine OS software. This is the first hardware player that offers Beatport streaming capabilities – a huge step forward for the company.
Denon DJ’s users using Engine OS can upgrade to the new v1.5 and access Beatport LINK’s streaming service. This can be done over WiFi, without a computer, directly from their Denon DJ hardware. Neither needs USB or hard drive is needed.
Beatport changed the game of music distribution a month ago when Beatport Link was released. Now, this update will allow users to play entire tracks straight from Beatport.
Until today, the only mobile app compatible with Beatport Link was WEDJ, available on the Pioneer DDJ-200. The update also adds SoundCloud GO+ streaming to multiple Denon DJ devices, including the SC5000 and 6000 players, the PRIME Go and PRIME 2, and 4 all-in-one units.
“This integration between Denon and Beatport represents a true breakthrough for dance music technology and culture, one which unlocks instant access to an enormous catalog of the latest on-demand curated music for professional DJs from wherever they are in the world“
Beatport Senior Vice President, Romain Pouillon
In the case of SoundCloud GO+ subscribers, they can stream 200 million+ tracks directly into Denon hardware. They can also access their own SoundCloud playlists and liked tracks from the devices.
Using the intuitive touch screen interface on Denon’s PRIME Series, users can swipe through and browse Top 100 playlists, the newest tracks by genre, user generated playlists and Beatport curated playlists.
Beatport LINK also provides all BPM and Key information, meaning that DJs can see critical track information without having to load/analyze first.
