The lack of parties due to the COVID-19 outbreak is still causing havoc across communities worldwide. London, Las Vegas, Somerset, and now New York City (NYC) are experiencing illegal raves.
The general public tries to respect all the safety measures that the government has put in place but there is always a group of people that can’t live without their occasional parties. This past Saturday, hundreds of people decided to gather at an illicit rave under the Kosciuszko Bridge in Brooklyn.
About The Illegal NYC Rave
Although revelers tried to be cautious – some of them even wore masks- the rave turned into a wild dance party that did not keep the required social distancing guidelines. The secret rave started as a Black Lives Matter protest, but the plan took an aggressive turn. The supposed protest spiraled out of hand and became a wild rave that rocked into the early hours of Sunday.
If you take a look at social media, you can find a crowd of more than a hundred people at the unauthorized rave in Greenpoint. With DJ Mazurbate behind the decks, the music was on point in this spontaneous rave. At least, DJ Mazurbate was wearing a surgical mask while rocking the improvised stage.
Despite being a relatively small event, DJ and producer Mike Simonetti tweeted that he declined an offer to perform at the party under the bridge. The reason for his rejection is devastating, as his father died due to the coronavirus.
I saw it as a disrespect to both my mother and everyone else who is going through what she went through. Imagine being married for 50 years and not being able to see your husband on his death bed.
